Our history
The roots ...
Quoi que ce soit une sotte chose que de commencer par la généalogie, il est bon d'en donner quelques connaissances.

Montesquieu, « Mémoires de ma vie »

Lavenceau is in our familly since 1842 ….At that time, there was only a few acres of land, a house . The vine was there for much longer : from the Antic times !!! All around there was a vineyard whose fruits were knowed up to Rome !!

It's the wedding of Aliénor d'Aquitaine with Henry Plantagenêt, and the river trade on the Gironde which promote the growth of the wines from Blaye to England and to Bordeaux too.

From 170 years in Lavenceau, each generation help to build the vineyard as we can see it today : weddings, births, wars, hard blows as the epidemic of Phylloxera during the 19° century ou the frost event in 1956...

Château Lavenceau retains the print of people who lived here ; It grew up, became stronger and it's a 21 ha vineyard today : you have to visit it.
